Among the many bars that dazzle with their impeccable hospitality and daring flavors, Jigger & Pony stands out. This avant-garde hotel bar, owned by Indra Kantono and Guoyi Gan, has consistently been recognized as one of the top 50 bars in Asia — and indeed, the world.

Located in the Amara Hotel at 165 Tanjong Pagar Road, Jigger & Pony has metamorphosed from an ordinary hotel lounge into a celebrated cocktail haven, beloved by both locals and international visitors, with a drink menu that is considered a work of art. Dubbed the “menuzine” due to its hefty 72-page content, each edition is a comprehensive guide to 20 unique concoctions, including cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, and punch bowls.

The sixth edition, titled Smash is a tribute to the joy of simplicity, an invitation to break every flavour pattern – just as the name of the list suggests – and then reconstruct new flavours that bring out the quality of the finest artisanal products Jigger & Pony celebrates its 12th anniversary by boasting outstanding mixology mastery through sections like “Basic Wants,” “Anytime, Any Day,” “More Than Once,” “It Takes a Village,” and “Smashing Classics”, where guests will find their perfect drink to “explore, discover, and demolish” their flavor expectations.

Cocktails for All

Nuclear Daiquiri

Among the most popular cocktails is Lycheetini, a tropical twist on the classic Martini, enriched with flavours extracted through low-temperature distillation of lychee pulp, the real protagonist of this drink. Lychee-infused vermouth, crafted with Japanese sweet potato shochu, is mixed with a cordial made from the fruit’s pulp and gin, and garnished with lychee jelly for a fresh visual twist.

Another standout is the Spicy Margarita, a tribute to Mexico made with tequila reposado and Mexican chili liqueur, available in three spice levels (no spicy, standard, extra spicy). Instead of a salted rim, the cocktail is served with an agave lollipop dusted with delicate Japanese salt.

For those with a sweet tooth, the Smashing Sundae offers a delightful milk punch made from gin, vodka, and vanilla ice cream, deepened with green tea and melon, and finished with refreshing shiso.

Jigger & Pony, a staunch supporter of classic cocktails since its inception, also offers creative takes on traditional favorites like the Ramos Fizz and Negroni. For example, the Champagne Ramos Fizz adds an elegant touch to the historic drink, combining gin, champagne, and red port, topped with a creamy soda-like foam and a crunchy garnish.

The Velvet Negroni is a smooth and round version of the popular Italian cocktail, blending gin, bitters, and Turin vermouth with a secret hint of orange, served over ice for a balanced bittersweet sip.

For those who prefer non alcoholic beverages, the “I Don’t Need Booze!” of Smash section includes meticulously crafted drinks that have nothing to envy from the rich bouquet of their alcoholic counterparts, like the refreshing Apple & Cedar and the botanical Pear & Hops, both beloved by patrons.
