On May 20, Lisbon lights up with La Noche Espolòn, a fiesta of agave, rhythm, and ritual that turns Carpintarias de São Lázaro into a living tribute to Mexican spirit culture. The story unfolds with La Noche Espolòn
The scene opens at 10 p.m., with an exclusive preview for press and special guests. Glasses clink, lights soften, and the story begins. By 10:30, Espolòn takes centre stage, bringing its Blanco, Reposado and Añejo expressions to life. Then come two voices that have shaped the global agave scene: Julio Bermejo, creator of the Tommy’s Margarita and longtime tequila ambassador, and Ivan Saldana, the visionary behind Montelobos Mezcal and Ancho Reyes. Between tastings and tales, they guide guests into the heart of Mexico’s spirit rituals. And by 11:30, the doors open wide: five hundred guests, one soundtrack and countless toasts.
Agave everywhere with La Noche Espolòn
Behind the bar, it’s pure agave power. The cocktail menu reads like a manifesto: the Espolòn Paloma with pink grapefruit soda, lime and agave syrup; the dry, stripped-down Tommy’s Margarita; the smoky twist of a Mezcal Margarita with Montelobos; and the heat-packed Spicy Margarita with Ancho Reyes Verde. Four drinks, four ways to read the same story—vivid, complex, alive.
Equipo takes the Stage
Flying in from Milan and Rome, the Equipo adds fire and finesse to the mix. Roby Tardelli (Il Nemico), Giulia Castellucci (Dude Roma, REM Trastevere), and Ilirjan Gojani (Eppolino, Milano) bring their know-how, creativity and instinct for connection. At La Noche Espolòn, mixology becomes conversation—an exchange of styles, flavours and cultures.
