The irresistible rhythm of son cubano resonates in the glasses, while the scent of sugar cane blends with notes of vanilla and spices. In the Tierra del Ron, a story told sip after sip has spawned Eminente’s Somewhere in Cuba, a project that sparks a dance on the palates of rum enthusiasts.
Eminente Takes Center Stage in the Journeys of Somewhere in Cuba
Since 2023, this adventure has been sailing from the Isla del Cocodrilo to reach the world’s finest cocktail bars. The initiative’s third edition kicks off with a series of masterclasses, dedicated drink lists and guest shifts beyond Cuban borders, with European venues harmonising like Havana’s maestros of polyrhythmic musicality. The star of these flights of creativity is Eminente, a Cuban rum rooted in the Central Province of Villa Clara. Created by César Martí, Primer Maestro del Ron Cubano, Eminente reinterprets Cuba’s 19th-century rum production finesse, combining ancestral heritage with a contemporary soul.
The Finest Expressions of Eminente
One of its most representative expressions is Ámbar Claro 3 años, which offers a smooth and balanced profile with notes of green apple, pear, chamomile, vanilla and hints of toasted walnut and caramel. Then there’s Reserva 7 años, a more full- bodied and deep rum that develops smoky, vanilla, coffee and sugar cane notes, with a spicy aftertaste of ginger and Sichuan pepper. And lastly, there’s Gran Reserva Edition N°1, the pinnacle of the collection, whose intense and elegant character delights with its balance between fruity notes of dried apricot, orange blossom, sandalwood, hazelnut and pimento.
The events of Somewhere in Cuba 2025
The 2025 iteration of Somewhere in Cuba began with Giovanni Allario, bar manager at Moebius Milano, who captivated Munich on 25 March with his special drink list at Trisoux. The journey through the Italian mixology elite continues on June 3 with L’Antiquario guesting at Bar Am Wasser in Zurich, followed by Rita’s Tiki Room at Ruby in Copenhagen (July 21) and Drink Kong taking over Three Sheets in London (September 23). But the tour doesn’t end there.

The Cuban-flavoured itinerary will also touch down at Italy’s top Cocktail Weeks: from Lecce, where Bar Lupo from Zurich will guest at Quantobasta (June 9), to the Como edition (July 5), with Rumore and Cloakroom set to enchant guests at Super Social Club, and finally to the Sicilian celebration in Taormina (October 2), where Quantobasta and Luau Tiki Bar will team up with Morgana to trace a liquid map across Europe. Each stop marked by the distinctive soul of Eminente’s liquid craftsmanship.
