Mag I Navigli Launches “World Comes to Milan” Ahead of the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics

MAG I Navigli, the cocktail bar overlooking Milan’s Naviglio Grande, has unveiled a new drink list: World Comes To Milan, inspired by the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. The event will bring visitors from across the globe into the city, and the menu is designed to make them feel at home—at least in spirit. Each recipe pays homage to one of the participating countries.

World Comes To Milan cannot feature ninety cocktails—the rough number of nations involved in the Olympics—because preparing a different drink for every delegation would be unworkable. Faced with the need to choose, MAG I Navigli condensed the idea into about a dozen serves.

France is here, represented through a cognac-based blend; China through Lapsang Souchong black tea and lychee liqueur; South Korea with soju; the United States with bourbon; England with gin; Norway with aquavit. Then come Germany, Australia, Canada and Greece.

The Cocktails for Canada and Greece

Canada is celebrated with a velvety reinterpretation of the Old Fashioned, built from a blend of Irish whiskeys mixed with sherry, maple syrup, pecan, butter and vanilla bitters. The symbolic ingredient is clear: Acer saccharum, the sugar maple tree whose leaf appears on the national flag.

Greece—the birthplace of the Olympic Games—is honoured with a fresh twist on the Tommy’s Margarita. The alcohol component has a smoky touch from mezcal, but everything else points unmistakably toward the Hellenic world. The drink includes mastiha, a liqueur derived from the resin of the lentisk tree; oleato, a distillate infused with olives, olive leaves and olive oil; and kykeon, a beverage consumed in antiquity by Greek athletes. As the team at MAG I Navigli explains, there are also “suggestions of Greek salad and tzatziki in liquid form.” The garnish continues the theme with an ouzo spherification.

Open since 2011, MAG I Navigli has a long and confident identity, one that allows it to welcome global influences without losing its own character. World Comes To Milan was created as a celebration of cultural hospitality, where taste becomes a form of encounter and discovery. It stands as a spirited counterpart to the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, taking place from February 6 to 22.
