On this Roman Rooftop, it Feels Like Being on the French Riviera

The air is warm, the light turns golden, and the music flows softly from one cocktail to the next. Above the rooftops of Rione Monti, a new terrace brings the Mediterranean gently back into focus, echoing the unhurried charm of the Côte d’Azur. At Casa Monti Rooftop, every detail is designed to evoke a sense of summer that’s as carefree as it is curated: blue tables, silver bowls brimming with olives, wooden floors that catch the light like a Southern piazza. There are woven baskets scented with lavender and rosemary, yellow ceramic lemon trees, and Provençal-style fans resting beside the plates.

Holding this summer reverie together is a soundtrack of French jazz, chanson, and soft, sun-drenched grooves. The result is an effortlessly elegant setting, designed for letting go — where every element contributes to a scene shaped by scent, sound, and flavour.

The Signature Cocktails

The cocktail list, signed by bar manager Mark Supillo, traces a brief but vivid journey along the French coast. The Mojito Riviera blends rum with thyme, fennel, and mint. The Cannoise French 75 carries notes of rosé and lavender, while the Monaco Martini stirs vodka with fig and champagne. Even the non-alcoholic options shine: the Provence Collins with basil and grape, or the Lavender Coast Sour, built on fig jam and rosemary cordial.

The Taste of Authenticity at Casa Monti Rooftop

Calamarata

The same thoughtful touch runs through the restaurant on the ground floor, where chef Umberto Tuccio brings seasonal flair to the sunlit patio and terrace on Via Cimarra. Dishes like red prawn and pistachio linguine or sea-scented calamarata are made to be shared — just like the house millefoglie. That’s Casa Monti: a summer story written in flavour, sound, and light. Best enjoyed slowly, under the Roman sun with a Provençal state of mind.
